The Island
This
is a story about my adventure in Pulau Perhentian and also the first time I
went on a trip without my parents or any family relatives. I went there to
create a photobook for my photography class. Oh yeah, I went there with the
whole class that takes photography class, we used two buses to get there, it
was a little bit packed but the more the merrier right? When we reach the jeti
in Kuala Besut, we got onto 2 small boat to get to the island, the boat that I
was in, was quite fun since the captain of the boat let one of my friend, Raziq
steer the boat, and we were the first group that arrived on the island even
thought we were the last one to depart from the jeti.
When we
reached there, we were a bit shocked at the place where we were supposed to get
some shut eye since it was in a really bad shape. If I had to describe it, the
room or dorm is so messy and filled with sand on the floor and the beds were in
a bad shape since everything is broken or not in a good condition. So with that
being said, I had to sleep outside on the first night right next to the beach.
To be honest, sleeping outside wasn’t that bad since I slept outside with a
bunch of friends and we talked for hours, it was really fun and we get to watch
the starry skies and listen to the ocean waves while we get some shut eye.
On the
next day, we went on a snorkeling trip around the island nearby, it took us
around 5 hours to finish our snorkeling trip which was superb and every moment
in the water was amazing since we saw a lot of corals, sea turtle, and baby
sharks. We also came out with a few cuts thanks to the corals. On the last day
of the trip we packed our things and said our farewell to the island. We
departed from the island’s jeti with a sad face since we had a lot of great
memories from it and had to leave so soon.
