So..... Anwar Ibrahim was here, at Unisel Bestari Jaya campus.
He was here to give us a talk about his political view and his vision for Malaysia.
Of course, we greeted him with Vice Chancellor's speech, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Redzuan Othman, which is a good friend towards Anwar Ibrahim himself.
For this meet & greet event, UNISEL collaborated with Anwar Ibrahim Club (AIC) and it was a great success for this talk.
Overall, the starting speeches were boring until this one question caught my attention.
"Why do we even enter the university and learn?"
That's a rhetorical question, I know.
"Actually, education and knowledge save our life. We are trampled, people bully us because we don't have knowledge."
That, is the first thing that has caught our attention and I continue to listen until the end of the speech.
"If we don't have knowledge, then corruption will come. Bribery will be a tradition, hostility to religion and religious divisions."
"There must be excellence with charity, there must be an effort to gain excellency"

He then quoted Mahatma Gandhi's words.
"I remembered this saying, by Mahatma Gandhi around 1940s. The world is enough for every man's need, but never enough for every man's greed."
He also has stated his contribution towards UNISEL students.
280 students were not granted permission to take their final exams, due to their outstanding debt towards the university.
He then said, "I ask them to change the menteri besar, then everything settled. How can a filthy rich state couldn't settle a small problem? It all came from the administration itself."
To end his speech, he gives a brilliant advice to the students.
"Let the students be burdened with knowledge from being burdened with the country's atmosphere then blown by ruthless and cruel leaders."
What a strong words from a visionary.
He speaks with such modesty. The keyword in his speech is, education.
We were mesmerized by his speech.
Later, Q&A session starts.
A TESL student asks a controversy question.
The student was asking about his earlier sodomy cases.
"The explanation on the case has been repeated many times on Facebook and there were more than a million hits on YouTube. All reports defending me on have been compiled into books among them, a book by an Australian lawyer, Mark Trowell. The answers given are very detailed, so I would advise reading them"
"Do we want to be victims of slanders or do we want to seek truth by listening and reading all information? You said you have not heard from my side. That is not true. Books and articles have been written, and written in detail. It is all explained clearly. The defence records. It is all there. Go and read."
He sees no reason for him to explain further on sodomy cases.
The students of institution of higher learning should adopt an open mind and not to be tied to only one source to seek information.
It was a controversial questions, asked by a undergraduate student.
Several questions were asked by many students, which is not interesting for us to even jot down and write about it. Common questions.
We have learned a lot from him in this session.
